In 2022, the TUM Family Service began designing an online university platform for babysitting and tutoring. The goal is that students, mainly from TUM, who want to offer a babysitting and/or tutoring service, meet interested TUM parents and can make agreements on their own responsibility.
In this way, TUM members receive flexible support offers and students can earn something alongside their studies. The initiative serves to improve the compatibility of work or study and family and has received great support from all sides within TUM. In this context, in November 2022 and January 2023, two rounds each with a first aid for children crash course and a one-day babysitter training course took place, in which around 20 motivated and mostly experienced caregivers took part. At the same time, the online platform (based on Moodle) was set up and its first version went online. Some of the participants created their babysitting and/or tutoring profiles there. Gradually more profiles will be added. The database is to be expanded and limited availability compensated for by new training rounds that are planned every semester. The platform is still under construction and will be further adapted or expanded in the ongoing process.
