The BIS City Talk of the Bavarian International School (BIS) is a public forum that aims to jump-start innovation in education by bringing together business, politics and society.
At the fifth edition of the expert talk on 30 March 2023 (18:00), Claudia Nerger from the BMW Group, Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the TUM Institute for Lifelong Learning, BIS student Daniel Peters and BIS School Director Dr. Chrissie Sorenson will discuss the topic of "Next generation leadership". The event will take place at the BIS City Campus in Munich-Schwabing (Leopoldstr. 208) and will be hosted by moderator and actress, Nina Eichinger.
Everyone is talking about the "turning point" (Zeitenwende). Digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) are changing the world of work. Globalisation, geopolitics and climate change are other dramatic factors that are changing everyone's lives. Nothing stays the same, change becomes a permanent state. What does this mean for the future skills of our children? What will the leadership of the next generation look like? And how must schools adapt to these new demands and skills?
The four big C's will certainly play a central role: communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. Equally important are the skills of lifelong learning, language and intercultural competencies as global citizens, emotional intelligence and, last but not least, digital expertise. These key competences, coupled with a stable set of values and a holistic school education, is the ideal basis to prepare young people for the leadership of the future - and to become masters of change and resilience in turbulent times.
