For the first time, a topic-oriented Fellowship will join the ranks of the Fellowship categories at the TUM Institute for Advanced Study (TUM-IAS): The Anna Boyksen Fellowship has been created for outstanding international scientists who intend to explore gender- and diversity-relevant topics with regard to the natural and engineering sciences together with a TUM research group. TUM-IAS thereby follows the Technische Universität München’s strong belief that diversity fosters creativity.
Anna Helene Boyksen was the first female engineering student of TUM, enrolling in 1906 to study electrical engineering, after the Bavarian government within the German empire had permitted women the access to university education in 1905.
Nominations for Anna Boyksen Fellows can be sent in all year round. More information on the new Anna Boyksen Fellowship can be found on the website of TUM-IAS: Anna Boyksen Fellowship.
