Gender & Diversity at TUM

The Technical University of Munich cultivates a university culture of appreciation, openness and diversity. That is why TUM takes a holistic approach to implementing its Gender & Diversity Strategy. Two central units, the Gender Equality Office and the Staff Unit Diversity & Equal Opportunities, develop, shape and support this strategy with their business units listed below.

We work closely with the Gender Equality Officers in our Schools, Vice Deans for Talent Management and Diversity and the respective Diversity Offices of the Schools . Furthermore, we are in constant exchange with all other offices that are committed to the topics of equal opportunities, diversity and anti-discrimination at TUM.

Gender Equality Office

The primary task of the Gender Equality Officer is to enforce real equality of women and men at the TUM (students and academic staff). The Equal Opportunity Officer is responsible for employees supporting scientific research and education (science and research management). Both work closely together. The Gender Equality Officer participates in the Senate and the TUM Extended Board of Management as a voting member and continuously supports the equality work in the TUM Board of Trustees. She also chairs the TUM Equal Opportunity Conference. The Gender Equality Office supports in carrying out the equality mandate.

Staff Unit Diversity & Equal Opportunities
