The European Commission is intensifying its efforts to promote gender equality. In this context, institutions seeking to participate in Horizon Europe, the European Union’s key funding program for research and innovation, and to act as hosts of an European Research Council (ERC) grant holder from 2022 are required to present a “Gender Equality Plan” (GEP) before signing the agreement.
The Diversity & Gender Equality Plan for the Technical University of Munich (TUM) has been compiled under the direction of the Senior Vice President (SVP) for Talent Management and Diversity in coordination with the TUM Gender Equality Officer and the TUM Equal Opportunity Officer.
Commitment
This Diversity & Gender Equality Plan represents TUM's continued commitment to the principle of an open-minded university that attracts and supports the best talents in all their diversity. These measures are intended to create the best possible conditions for each person to develop their individual potential. Equality is an elementary pillar of TUM, and the university is committed to a focus on diversity and talent management. The TUM Board of Management fosters gender equality and wholeheartedly supports the Diversity & Gender Equality Plan. In order to promote equality in a diverse university community in the best possible way, the implementation status of the measures in the Diversity & Gender Equality Plan is checked at regular intervals and, if necessary, supplemented by other innovative formats and measures in the sense of a "living document".
