Flexible childcare at TUM

Parents can often be faced with a dilemma when they need to go somewhere at short notice outside of regular care hours. We are here to help with the following flexible childcare services.

Children’s and family rooms located in the different schools offer (expectant) mothers and fathers with children a place to relax or get some work done. If required (in case of appointments or lectures outside regular care hours, for example), flexible childcare is offered in some of these rooms. This is hourly care that cannot replace regular (full-time) care. See the following school websites for more information:

You are looking for flexible childcare and want to find a suitable babysitter or a suitable day nanny? The Technical University of Munich wants to support you in this matter in cooperation with HalloBabysitter.de.

HalloBabysitter.de is one of the biggest job exchange providers for babysitters and day nannies in the German speaking region with more then 20 years of experience in the recruitment of childcare professionals. On this platform you can find babysitters or day nannies according to your individual needs (i.e. home address, language skills) or just offer a babysitter position yourself.

Please ask TUM Family Service for the access data for the TUM premium account.

TUM4Kids is a new project of TUM Family Service, which is intended to contribute to a better compatibility of family and career or studies. On the university's online platform (based on Moodle), mainly TUM students offer babysitting and tutoring services. Whether to overcome care shortage, for short-term care needs, during examination periods or conferences. The childcare assignment can be flexibly arranged and is possible for children of different ages. Only TUM members have access to the babysitting and tutoring profiles. Interested parents contact the caregivers they have chosen independently and make individual arrangements.

All information about the TUM4Kids project can be found here.
