Reconciliation of family, care and work / studies
The issue of caring for elderly relatives affects almost everyone in the course of their lives. But younger family members with disabilities or seriously ill relatives can also be permanently dependent on support and care.
Duties of the care guides
The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is dedicated to supporting the balance between family or caregiving responsibilities and work or studies. To this end, newly trained company care guides serve as the primary contacts for initial guidance through the "care jungle" as part of collegial advice. They provide an overview of available operational and legal services, external contacts, and cooperation partners, offering significant relief. These company care supervisors are thus the first point of contact for employees or students facing caregiving situations for their relatives.
Care guides at TUM locations
At the TUM, freshly trained nursing supervisors are now available at various locations, including Munich, Straubing, and the Klinikum rechts der Isar. They serve as contact persons for all TUM members to assist with all matters related to balancing caregiving responsibilities and work.
